Stuff happens, and God “feels”
far away, because we don’t feel anything. Perhaps we are trying to feel too much. God is not bound nor limited to our
feelings–in other words, our senses are not the final judge of the truth of God’s whereabouts. Since He has promised
to never leave nor forsake us, let’s rest our hearts KNOWING what is true and not limiting our joy by focusing on how
it all feels. Here’s another view of our lives: A great promise from God is found in
1 Corinthians 10:13 in which we are told that God will not allow us to be tempted more than we are able. James 1 & Romans
5:3-5 tells us that trials build us up spiritually, and therefore should be embraced as gifts rather than complained about
as unfairness on the part of the Lord. And that bump in the road certainly looks manageable, doesn’t it? Sermon Ideas Again, if you have
any ideas or topics for sermon series at Travis, send me an email with your suggestion to pastor@travisbaptist.org. Have a blessed week! And finally, Big
Ed goes to the revival and listens to the preacher. After a while the preacher asks anyone with needs to come forward to be
prayed over. Big Ed gets in line. When it's his turn, the preacher says, "Big Ed, what do you want me to pray about?" Big Ed says, "Preacher, I need you to pray
for my hearing." So the preacher puts one finger in Big Ed's
ear and the other hand on top of his head and shouts, hollers, and prays a while. After a few minutes, he removes his hands
and says, "Big Ed, how's your hearing now?" Big Ed says, "I don't know preacher, it's
not until next Wednesday at the Dupage County Courthouse." David
